Region by region

Andalusia, at your own pace.

Andalusia works for two- to four-day getaways, each with a city, a white village and a different landscape. Ronda, Cádiz, Vejer and Doñana cover mountains, city, white village and wetlands, so it pays to pick one or two areas per trip.

How to approach this getaway

White streets. Warm stone. Long breaks.

Andalusia is best explored area by area. Ronda is mountains and gorge, Cádiz is city and sea, Vejer is a white village with views and Doñana is nature. Choose one or two areas per trip and go with the rhythm of the heat in the warmer months.

01

Mountains: Ronda

One walk around town and another to the places you want to visit. Keep a morning for history and an afternoon for gazing at the sierra.

02

The Cádiz coast

Cádiz and Vejer fit into the same trip: a seaside city one day and a white village the next. Factor in roads, parking and getting back to your accommodation.

03

Doñana, with planning

It's a protected area. Check how to visit, what needs booking and which season suits before deciding your days.

Before you pack

What you're probably wondering.

How many days do I need for a trip to Andalusia?+

Three or four days are enough for one area, not for the whole region. For example, Cádiz and Vejer on the coast, or Ronda with the Sierra de Grazalema. Trying to fit Ronda, Cádiz and Doñana into one weekend leaves you more time on the road than in each place.

When is the best time to visit Andalusia?+

It depends on the destination. Going by AEMET climate data, May and June in Cádiz, May and October in Vejer, and April, May and October in Doñana. Ronda has no AEMET station with its own data: December to February is when it gets the fewest visitors.

Which places in Andalusia work for a short trip?+

Ronda for a weekend of town and gorge, Cádiz for city and sea, Vejer for a white village with views and Doñana for nature. Cádiz and Vejer fit into the same trip, and Cádiz is about 120 km from Seville, the easiest gateway if you're flying in.
