One bridge. A thousand ways to look.
6 December is Constitution Day and 8 December is the Immaculate Conception, both public holidays in Spain. Depending on the year, they make a long weekend or a four- or five-day puente (the Spanish name for a holiday bridged to the weekend).
In 2026, 6 December falls on a Sunday and 8 December on a Tuesday. Monday the 7th is a holiday in several regions because the Sunday the 6th holiday moves to it; there you get four days in a row, Saturday to Tuesday, without taking any days off. Elsewhere, taking just Monday the 7th off gives you the same four days.
